Mitchell, SD (Mitchell Now)— Mitchell Technical College has achieved record enrollment for the second
consecutive year, welcoming 1,392 students for the Fall 2026 semester.
This year’s enrollment surpasses the previous record of 1,344 students set in Fall 2025. The
addition of 48 students represents an increase of approximately 3.6% and continues a period of
strong growth for the college.
“Reaching record enrollment for a second consecutive year reflects the confidence students
and families place in Mitchell Tech and the value of a hands-on technical education,” said
Mitchell Tech President Theresa Kriese. “Our students come here because they want a clear
path to a rewarding career. This milestone is also a testament to the dedication of our faculty
and staff and the strong support we receive from industry and community partners.”
Continued enrollment growth reflects strong demand for skilled professionals in industries such
as healthcare, energy, agriculture, construction, manufacturing, business, and technology.
