PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota senators approved a ban on drone use for property tax assessments yesterday. Todd Epp has more. VERBATIM: The Commerce Committee voted 5-to-2 to prohibit assessors from using unmanned aircraft after hearing concerns about privacy and livestock safety. A professional surveyor and state senator says that no county assessors currently use drones. Bill supporters say drones can violate privacy and harass livestock. I’m Todd Epp reporting. The bill now moves to the full Senate.
