PIERRE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Two bills specifically backed by South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley will become law. Governor Rhoden has signed off on two Senate bills, one bulking up human trafficking enforcement and the other focusing on protecting state correctional officers. Senate Bill 58 revises provisions related to human trafficking and prohibits the obstruction of human trafficking enforcement. Senate Bill 59 will crack down on the delivery, possession with intent to deliver and possession of unauthorized items in a state correctional facility. Both bills will go into effect on July 1st.
