MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) South Dakota senior citizens and people with disabilities can now apply for a sales or property tax refund through the state’s Tax Refund Program. According to a press release, in order to qualify you must be a South Dakota resident age 65 or older, or disabled, and meet income limits. For property tax refunds, you must also have owned your home for three years or lived in the state for five. You can only receive one type of refund, whichever is greater.
