Sioux Falls Man Sentenced to 10 Years for Attempted Enticement of Minor

A 52-year-old Sioux Falls man, Stacy Hoover, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for Attempted Enticement of a Minor after he tried to meet who he believed was a 15-year-old girl. The individual was actually an undercover officer.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A 52-year-old man from Sioux Falls is headed to prison for trying to lure a minor. Stacy Hoover was sentenced to 10 years behind bars for Attempted Enticement to a Minor. After he finishes his sentence, he’ll be on parole for five years and will have to register as a Sex Offender. The case began in March 2024, when Hoover thought he was texting with a 15-year-old girl, but it was actually an undercover cop. Their conversations included plans to meet up, and when Hoover showed up, police were there to arrest him.
