PINE RIDGE, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) A South Dakota officer is now cleared in a shooting during a high-speed chase on the Pine Ridge Reservation. It marked the beginning of a multi-state manhunt for Cody Dittman earlier this month that lasted nearly a week. Attorney General Marty Jackley says the officer was justified in using force when Dittman’s vehicle swerved toward officers trying to deploy spike strips. One passenger was shot in the arm. No officers were hurt. Dittman fled into Nebraska but was arrested five days later. He is facing state and federal charges, including assault and eluding police.
