DCI Leading Investigation Into Multiple Inmate Assaults at State Penitentiary

South Dakota Attorney General Marty Jackley has confirmed that the Division of Criminal Investigation is leading a probe into a violent, gang-related prison incident at the Jameson Annex of the Sioux Falls State Penitentiary.

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Attorney General Marty Jackley says the Division of Criminal Investigation is now leading the investigation into several inmate assaults at the state penitentiary in Sioux Falls. The violence broke out Tuesday around 1 p.m. in parts of the Jameson Annex and is believed to be gang-related. Ten inmates were injured, five of them had stab wounds, and three were hospitalized.
