HAND COUNTY, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) One person is dead after a semi crashed into a train on Thursday morning in Hand County. Authorities say the semi with an empty trailer was crossing the tracks when it was hit by a grain train just before 10 a.m. The driver was taken to the hospital where he later died. Multiple agencies, including the Hand County Sheriff’s Office, Miller Fire and Ambulance, and Wessington Fire, responded to the scene. Officials said the crash investigation is still ongoing.
