MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) An attempted contraband delivery to the State Penitentiary was stopped thanks to the sharp eye of the corrections staff. It happened during a routine delivery on May 29th. Officials say staff noticed suspicious behavior and took quick action, preventing potentially dangerous materials from reaching inmates. Corrections Secretary Kellie Wasko praised the team, saying they went through recent training.
