MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Attorney General Marty Jackley says a Mitchell man has been indicted on 44 felony counts involving sex crimes against children. According to a news release, Eric Opperman now faces charges including rape, aggravated incest, and the manufacturing and possession of child pornography. The new indictment, handed down Wednesday by a Davison County Grand Jury, adds 32 charges to an earlier case. Authorities allege the crimes involved three children under age 14 and occurred between 2013 and 2025. The Attorney General’s Office and Davison County State’s Attorney will prosecute the case.
