MITCHELL, S.D. (MITCHELLNOW) Just before 1 a.m. Sunday, police were called to the Activities Center parking lot on North Minnesota in Mitchell for a report of a truck driving without lights and nearly hitting parked cars. An officer patrolling nearby arrived almost immediately. As the officer pulled in, the truck reversed and nearly hit the squad car, prompting a call for backup. Officers say the driver showed signs of impairment, so they started field sobriety tests but had to call medics when the driver complained of leg pain. After a quick hospital visit, the driver was booked into the Davison County Jail for DUI. The truck was released to a sober driver. For more crime stories from MitchellNow.com, click here.
