The Palace City Baseball Association (PCBA) is proud to announce that American Legion Baseball will return to Mitchell starting in the summer of 2026.
As the official association for summer baseball in the Mitchell community, PCBA has established South Dakota Class A league teams for 13U, 14U, and 16U aged players. With its recent acceptance into the South Dakota American Legion Baseball program, representing Post 18, PCBA will now have Junior Legion and Senior Legion leagues available starting with the 2026 season.
American Legion Baseball carries a rich tradition of providing opportunities for young athletes across South Dakota and the nation. On January 11, 2026, the South Dakota American Legion (SDAL) Athletic Commission officially welcomed PCBA into the program. PCBA has worked diligently to meet the SDAL requirements and will continue to work together to ensure all standards are upheld.
“We are honored to represent Post 18 and to bring American Legion Baseball back to the Mitchell community,” said PCBA President Jeff McCormick. “This milestone reflects our responsibility to ensure this opportunity and our commitment to youth baseball in Mitchell.”
Given the significance of this achievement, PCBA will reopen registration for the 2026 season. Families can register online at www.palacecitybaseball.com.
In addition to help fund the inaugural season, PCBA has established various sponsorship opportunities that include many donor benefits. Visit the sponsorship tab on the Palace City Baseball website for more information or contact any board member.
PCBA thanks the community for its continued support and looks forward to working together to grow youth baseball in Mitchell.
