Mitchell Basketball
The Kernel basketball teams will round out the regular season tonight on the road against O’Gorman. It begins with the boys/girls JV and freshman boys all starting at 3:30pm, then the boys/girls sophomore games at 4:45pm. Ending the night are the varsity games as the (RV) Kernel girls playing at 6pm and then the varsity boys beginning at 7:30pm.
Mitchell Wrestling
The Kernel wrestling teams compete in their Varsity State Tournaments today. Both the boys and the girls will be at the Sioux Falls Premiere Center. Start time is listed as TBD on the Mitchell Activities Calendar.
DWU Baseball
The Tiger baseball game is back on the field for game action today. They’re over in York, NE taking on York for a single game against York (NE). The first pitch will be at 4pm. Then tomorrow they will play them in a doubleheader beginning at Noon.
DWU Softball
The Tiger softball team is in action tomorrow as well and are also on the road. They will be in Sioux Center, IA for a doubleheader against two different teams. DWU will play Dickinson State (ND) at 4pm and then face Haskell at 6pm.
DWU Basketball
The Tiger basketball teams began the Great Plains Athletic Conference Postseason Tournament last night in the Quarterfinal games. The No. 9 women dominated Doane and will move on to play in the GPAC Semifinals on Saturday after their 74-45 win. Shalayne Nagel led the way with 14 points and also added a team-high in rebounds with eight. For the men, they were unable to stop a blistering hot first half by Northwestern where it was 65-29 at halftime. DWU won the second half by three, but it was too big a deficit to come back from and they lost 112-79. Randy Rosenquist Jr led the way with 16 points. Their season comes to an end following the loss and the Tigers end the year 14-15 overall and 9-11 in the GPAC.
SDSU Basketball
The Jackrabbit women’s basketball team took on the North Dakota State Bison on the road. It was not a high scoring game, but a big one for SDSU as they took down the Bison who were undefeated in the Summit League going into the game. The Jackrabbits didn’t allow more than 12 points in any quarter and won the game, 59-44. They improved to 23-6 overall and 13-2 in the Summit League. The men will hit the road tonight for their next game. They’ll be in Kansas City, MO taking on Kansas City. Tipoff is at 7pm on the Summit League Network.
NBA
The Minnesota Timberwolves get back to the court tonight as they remain on a road trip. This time they’ll be in Los Angeles taking on the Clippers at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, CA. Tipoff is set for 9pm on Prime Video.
