Mitchell Softball
The Kernel softball team has today off but will be back on the field tomorrow. Last night they faced Sioux Falls Washington and fell by a score of 7-1. Tomorrow they will face Sioux Falls Roosevelt at home at Cadwell Park with JV playing at 4pm and varsity at 5:30pm.
Mitchell Track & Field
The Kernel track & field teams will compete in a meet tomorrow that was postponed from April 18. They’ll be hosting meet at the Mitchell high school on Joe Quintal Field at Noon.
They also competed in Yankton recently for a Triangular and here are some results: Top 5 individuals and Top 3 relay finishes
Mitchell Golf
The Kernel girls golf team begins their season tomorrow morning at Spring Creek Country Club. They will be competing against Harrisburg, and they will tee off at 9am.
DWU Golf
The Tiger men’s golf team will compete today when they play in the Northwestern Invitational in Orange City, IA at Landsmeer Golf Course. Tee time is set for 9:30am.
DWU Track & Field
The Tiger track & field teams are in action today. Both the men and the women will be at the Bauer Open in Rapid City, SD at O’Harra Stadium. Start time will be at 8:50am.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins had another solid outing in their latest game against the Boston Red Sox. They allowed six hits, but no runs and beat Boston 6-0. Minnesota is now 11-7 overall and will play again this afternoon at 12:40pm on MLBTV.
NBA
The NBA Play-In Tournament started last night with a pair of games. The Charlotte Hornets got past the Miami Heat, 127-126 in overtime. Followed by the Portland Trail Blazers going on the road and defeating the Phoenix Suns 114-110. Games continue on tonight as the Orlando Magic visit the Philadelphia 76ers with tipoff at 6:30pm on Prime Video. Then lastly it’s the Golden State Warriors at the Los Angeles Clippers at 9pm on Prime Video.
