Mitchell Softball
The Kernel softball team is back on the field today. They will face Sioux Falls Roosevelt at home at Cadwell Park with JV playing at 4pm and varsity at 5:30pm.
Mitchell Track & Field
The Kernel track & field teams will compete in a meet this afternoon that was rescheduled from April 18. They’ll be hosting meet at the Mitchell high school on Joe Quintal Field at Noon.
Mitchell Golf
The Kernel girls golf team begins their season this morning at Spring Creek Country Club. They will be competing against Harrisburg, and they will tee off at 9am.
DWU Golf
The Tiger men’s golf team was in competition yesterday in the Northwestern Invitational. They ended up finishing in seventh place out of 10 total teams. Individually they had just one athlete in the Top 15 and it was Dakota Munger. He finished tied for 13th place with a one under par score.
DWU Baseball
The Tiger are looking to regain their footing after some recent slippage. They will be home in Mitchell, SD tonight hosting Concordia (NE) for a doubleheader. The first pitch will be at 11am at Drake Field.
DWU Softball
The Tiger softball team is at home tonight, and they will be hosting Alumni Day in Mitchell, SD. It is a doubleheader against the Mount Marty Lancers, and it will begin at 6:30pm at Dr. McWhirter Field.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins were unable to get a three-game sweep over the Boston Red Sox last night. They fell by a score of 9-5 and are now 11-8 overall. Regardless of the loss, they are still winners of eight of their last 10 games. Tomorrow they will host the Cincinnati Reds at 7:10pm on MLBTV.
NBA
The NBA Play-In Tournament continued yesterday with two more games. The Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Orlando Magic, 109-97, and the Golden State Warriors got past the Los Angeles Clippers 126-121. Tomorrow night is the final night of Play-In Tournament games to determine the No. 8 seed in each conference after Philadelphia and Portland locked up the No. 7 seed spots. It’ll be the Charlotte Hornets at Orlando at 6:30pm and the Warriors at the Phoenix Suns at 9pm. Both games will air on Prime Video.
