Ryan Chase is stepping down from his role as the head coach of both the Dakota Wesleyan Track & Field and Cross Country programs. In two seasons as the head coach, Chase helped his alma mater produce 16 All-Conference distinctions between both indoor and outdoor seasons while helping bolster the depth and momentum of both programs while in charge. Chase saw his athletes tally 73 top-10 all-time program marks between both indoor and outdoor seasons and also helped produce two national qualifiers in Abby Magnuson and Ethan Watson during the 2024-25 campaign.
Dakota Wesleyan University Athletics would like to thank Coach Chase for his dedication and work, both in his athletic programs and around campus, for the past two years and wish him the best in his future endeavors. Director of Athletics, Ross Cimpl, stated his appreciation for Coach Chase and his efforts:
“Coach Chase has done an incredible job as the leader of our Track & Field and Cross Country programs over the past two seasons. He has elevated our level of competition while significantly growing our program, and we thank him for his contributions felt across DWU, the athletic department, and our athletic programs. We are very excited to use this momentum to continue the program’s success and find the next leader of Dakota Wesleyan Track & Field and Cross Country.”
Coach Chase will be fulfilling his duties as head coach until Friday, June 26th, and will still be assisting with summer camps, workouts, and 2026-27 schedules up until his final day. The search for Dakota Wesleyan University’s next Track & Field and Cross Country Head Coach is now underway, with the listing available at dwu.edu/employment.
