Mitchell Golf
The Kernel girls golf team competed in their Varsity ESD Tournament at Moccasin Creek Country Club yesterday. Out in Aberdeen the Kernels had a pretty solid outing overall. They managed a second-place finish as a team with a 30 over par score, losing only to Aberdeen Central who claimed first with a 13 over par score. Individually, Mitchell had four athletes finish in the Top 10. Brynlee Sabers tied for 10th with an 84 (+12), Londyn Hajek was ninth with an 83 (+11), Mia Larson got eighth with an 82 (+10). Finishing atop the competition shooting a 69 (-3) was Maddie Childs. She was able to claim the individual ESD title over Kyley Wirebaugh of Aberdeen Central who was the only other player to shoot under par with a 71 (-1).
Mitchell Track & Field
The Kernel track & field teams will begin their Varsity State Championships tomorrow. They will be at Sioux Falls Howard Wood Field over the next three days looking to end their year on a high note. The competition starts at 11am tomorrow, 9:30am on Friday and 10am on Saturday.
MLB
The Minnesota Twins faced the Chicago White Sox again for the second game in their series that began on Monday. This game ended up going 11 innings before a winner was declared, and it was the Twins who had a three-run top of the 11th to pull away for a 5-3 win. These two teams play again tonight at 6:40pm on MLBTV.
WNBA
The Minnesota Lynx will be playing at home tonight for their next game. They are going to host the Atlanta Dream in the Target Center in Minneapolis, MN. Tipoff will be at 8pm on USA Network.
NBA
The Western Conference Finals continues tomorrow night as the series is now 3-2. Game 6 tomorrow will be the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder at the No. 2 seed San Antonio Spurs. Tipoff will be at 7:30pm on NBC/Peacock.
