Mitchell Softball

The Kernel softball team returns to the field tonight. They are looking for their first win of the season, and they will take on Aberdeen Central. Which is a rescheduled game from April 9. It will be played at Cadwell Park and JV will start at 4pm and then varsity begins at 5:30pm.

Mitchell Baseball

The Kernel baseball team split their doubleheader against Yankton yesterday. They started off strong and got a 6-1 win in the first game, but then Yankton fired back and claimed the second game 5-3. Mitchell now sits at 8-2 overall. The Kernels will face Sioux Falls Jefferson on the road tomorrow for their next game.

Mitchell Golf

The Kernels girls golf team will be teeing it up tomorrow morning. They’ll be taking on Huron at Huron Broadland Creek Golf Course. Tee time is set for 11am.

Mitchell Tennis

The Kernel boys tennis team are competing in a Varsity Triangular today. They are looking to bounce back after taking their first team loss to O’Gorman this past week. Mitchell will be in Sioux Falls, SD taking on Sioux Falls Christian and Lennox beginning at 1pm.

DWU Baseball

The Tiger baseball team had Senior Day yesterday afternoon to wrap up their series against Concordia. It did not end the way the Tigers had hoped, and they lost 11-7 in Game 3 and 12-6 in Game 4. They are now 17-24 overall and 8-16 in the Great Plains Athletic Conference. DWU will have one final regular season series against Mount Marty this weekend and look to get into the GPAC Postseason Baseball Tournament.

DWU Softball

The Tiger softball team had their Senior Day yesterday as well. They ended up splitting the day with Midland with a 4-2 Game 1 win and then a 7-0 Game 2 loss, which ended their 15-game winning streak. DWU is now 33-12 overall and 16-2 in the GPAC.

MLB

The Minnesota Twins are starting to experience some slippage now after another loss over the weekend. They have now lost four straight games and were swept in the three-game series against Cincinnati after a 7-4 loss in 10 innings yesterday. Minnesota is now 11-11 over all, and they will play again tomorrow against the New York Mets at 6:10pm.

NBA

The Playoffs got started over the weekend, and they will continue with Game 2 action tonight. Tonight’s games include:

  • 6 seed Atlanta Hawks @ No. 3 seed New York Knicks at 7pm on NBC/Peacock
