PIERRE, S.D. (AP) — South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem says callers to a whistleblower hotline set up two weeks ago are reporting incidents of liberal ideology at two of the state’s colleges. In a letter sent Friday to the South Dakota Board of Regents, Noem said callers had reported policies that encouraged “transgender ideology,” supported mask mandates and promoted race-based learning. Most of the allegations involve Black Hills State University. When Noem announced the opening of the hotline in May, she said it was intended to address “liberal ideologies” at South Dakota universities. On Friday, she called on the regents to investigate the concerns and advise what actions would be taken to address them.
